Last updated: July 19, 2026. This policy covers matchwiz.ai. We don't sell data, we don't have accounts, and the most personal thing stored server-side is a browser push endpoint — and only if you ask us to.
Advertising — Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites. Ad personalization is based on browsing history stored in those cookies. We don't share any information you provide to MatchWiz with Google for advertising purposes — we don't collect it in the first place.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads or via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. Opting out doesn't remove ads — you'll see non-personalized ones instead. For more on how Google uses data when you visit sites that use its ad products, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate: page views, traffic sources, device types, and approximate geographic region (country and city level). GA4 anonymizes IP addresses by default — no full IP address is stored. GA4 cookies are set by Google's servers under the _ga prefix.
To opt out of GA4 tracking, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Analytics only fires when our GA4 measurement ID is configured in the deployment environment — it's absent on local and preview builds.
Push notifications — opt-in only
If you tap "Get alerts" and grant browser notification permission, your browser generates a push subscription — an encrypted endpoint URL created by your browser's push service (Google FCM on Chrome and Android, Apple APNs on Safari and iOS). We POST that endpoint to our server at /api/notify/subscribe and store it in our database.
That's the only personal data stored server-side: the push endpoint, your notification category preferences (strikeouts, home runs, team totals), and a random unsubscribe token. No email address, no account, no name — the endpoint is the only identifier. We use it solely to deliver the alerts you opted into. It's not used for analytics, advertising, or third-party sharing.
To unsubscribe, tap "Turn off alerts" in the alerts panel on any page. You can also revoke notification permission in your browser's site settings at any time. Push services automatically report delivery errors on inactive subscriptions, and we drop endpoints that go silent.
Device-local storage
We write the following to your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device — it isn't transmitted to our servers and isn't shared with anyone. Nothing is written at first load; these keys are only set when you use those features.
- Flagged plays (
mw_flags) — stats you've marked to watch live during a game (e.g., “flag this strikeout prop”). - Notification preferences (
mw_notify_prefs) — your push category toggles (strikeouts / home runs / team totals). Also synced to the server if push is active so your preferences survive a browser reload. - Notification token (
mw_notify_token) — the random unsubscribe token returned when you enable push alerts. Used to manage or revoke your subscription without an account. - Watchlist (
mw_watchlist) — golf players or UFC matchups you've starred to track in the live scores strip. - Pinned games (
mw_tracked_games) — MLB games you've pinned to the live score bar. Expires automatically at the end of each slate day.
Clearing your browser's site data for matchwiz.ai removes all of it.
No accounts, no email, no passwords
MatchWiz has no user registration, no login, and no account system. We collect no names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information. Every personalization feature on the site runs on your device.
Third-party services
Each service has its own privacy practices:
- Google AdSense & Analytics — ad personalization and aggregate analytics. policies.google.com/privacy
- Netlify — site hosting. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp) are retained per Netlify's data policy.
- Supabase — the database that stores push subscriptions. Hosted in US data centers. supabase.com/privacy
We don't use social login, tracking pixels, affiliate link trackers, or third-party consent managers. No data is sold.
Sports data sources
Our projections and boards are built from publicly licensed sports data: MLB Stats API, FanGraphs, the-odds-api, DraftKings (DFS salaries), and DataGolf. None of this pipeline involves visitor data — it's schedules, stat rates, and sportsbook lines.
Your rights and data deletion
Because we don't collect personal information beyond what's described above — no accounts, no email, and server-side storage only for push subscriptions you opted into — most state and federal privacy laws (CCPA, VCDPA, CPA, and similar) apply minimally here. We don't sell personal information. We don't share it with data brokers.
To delete your push subscription: tap "Turn off alerts" in the bell panel. To delete any device-local data: clear site data for matchwiz.ai in your browser settings. To request deletion of a server-side push endpoint by other means, email the address below.
